Welcome to the Term 2 Newsletter!

There's lots happening at RUCCIS this term - with new classes starting, festivals to rove at, and the production just around the corner, it's time to start learning those skills! If you're interested in making a group or solo act for production, come along to our new Thursday Open space! If you haven't already booked in for next term, please download the info pack from the website, and call us on 0433 037 085 or email Luth at circus@ruccis.com.au to tell us which classes you're doing! (If you haven't confirmed with us, your place will not be held) RUCCIS gives a warm welcome to all our new students We hope you all have a fantastic time this term!

Recent RUCCIS - Knox Fest

Knox Festival was a great success! A huge thank you to everyone who helped out over the weekend or put up the rig - It wouldn't have been possible without you! Well done to all our rovers and performers, who once again made RUCCIS proud with their skills. We'd like to collect as many photos as we can this year, so if you took some photos of RUCCIS over the weekend (or at any other festivals or events, for that matter!), bring them to class on a CD or USB stick for Luth to copy.

New Classes!

Check out the new classes running in term 2! We're also taking expressions of interest in: Performance Skills classes; Thursday spectrum, tumbling or aerial classes; an Eltham Circus Jam; or anything else you can think of!
For more information, download out latest info pack from the website, or email us

Thursday Open Space 4:30 - 7:30
This Open Space is focused on creating acts for the production next term. Spend time putting together your tricks into routines, or practice the skills you learnt in class. For current students only.

Saturday Tumbling 11:30 - 1pm
This class is for experienced/advanced tumblers. If you can't make it to the Tuesday classes, or want to learn even more tumbling, then this is the class for you!

Parents and Kids Circus 4:30 - 6pm Thursdays
We're looking for parent and child duos to join in a new type of circus class. Kids aged 3- 7 can learn new circus skills together with their parent, making circus a family affair!

Circus Opportunity - Barnum!

RUCCIS students have been invited to join a production of Barnum, a musical about P.T Barnum, the great circus ringmaster. The production is by Join The Chorus, the same people who run the State Schools Spectacular. They are looking for State Secondary School students who can sing, dance or perform circus skills to be a part of the show. This is a great opportunity to be involved in a major production from start to finish, share circus skills with others, and learn some yourself! For more information, talk to Luth, email circus@ruccis.com.au or visit www.education.vic.gov.au/jtc

Production Committee

The next production will be held during 3rd term, and we're looking for a group of people willing to help make it happen. We would like to run some fundraising this year, so we can get professional lighting and sound, without having to increase ticket prices. If you have some great ideas about fundraising, or you can help with costumes, food, backstage or anything else and would like to be involved, send an email to circus@ruccis.com.au to let us know!

Welcome back to Term 2 everyone!

Congratulations to Steph Izzard from Tecoma, who earned her First Stilt Certificate in only her second class at RUCCIS!

Goodbye Mel!
Mel Fyfe, our German Wheel and performance coach at Kilsyth, will sadly be leaving us this term. She is returning to perform with Circus OZ after a year off, so we all have a great excuse to go see her when their season starts again!
Have fun Mel - We'll miss you!
